LABOR DAY FUN

HELLO ALL VYCYCLERS,

Well it is almost September and Labor Day..
We are having an adventure of our own for the holiday,
Here's the plan... bring your camera or camera ready cell phone and lets see how many of our scavenger items you can find. Holly Cook has her secret list all ready and we are raring to go!
We will be meeting in the parking lot of the Yacht Club at 8:30 on Sept 2nd and will spread our two by two from there.
So bring a partner or I will provide you with one and lets get started..
We will return to the Club for a wonderful holiday breakfast and many activities. Bring your suit and take a swim!
PS... BREAKFAST  provided to winners!!!

Well let's try this again!

Sunday April 15th

 

How about a nice ride up the legacy trail to our favorite First Watch for some mighty fine brunch.

Let's meet at the train station at 9:30 and head north over the bridge.

For those choosing a shorter ride we will meet you at Laurel Rd trail head at 9 :50 or close!

The longer ride is about 26 miles and the shorter is about 17.

We can even shorten those numbers for any of you not wishing to go all the way to the trails end.

See.. something to suit everyone!

Rich is doing much better but will not be riding this time..Maybe next time.. And speaking of next time Pam Miller has a great trip laid out for us that includes some of Boca and Placida,, She will tell us all about it at lunch!

Annual picnic fun!!

What a great day for a picnic! Eleven of us enjoyed the fabulous feast that David always manages to pull off to perfection!!

The view up the key is ever changing and the landscaping is breath taking..See what a full time gardener can do??

It was a 12 mile easy ride with some of us extending it homeward!

Thanks to all  who joined in and again I cant wait till next time!

Hello VYCyclers..

Bravo to my brave quintet who got fish tacos against all odds!!

What a wild ride... I never saw the wind blow in all directions before!

Thanks to all of you who make the trip so much fun,We did at least 20 miles and enjoyed the

surroundings including a fabulous surf!

It is raining now which means we made it by about an hour and got home dry..well not counting the sweat we worked up against 20 knot winds.!!

I look forward to our next trip and will keep you posted.

Anyone interested in a Sadie Hawkins kayak trip Feb 29th ..??

I wiil be calling to rent kayaks next week for those who require them.. Should be great fun..Let me know

With a hunk of some wood..

Pam had the tools and Joe had the smarts

to get Nancy going without replacing the parts!!!

How about a trip on Casey Key...Lets meet Sunday Feb 19 at the Nokomis Beach parking lot and ride the length of the key and on to the Fish House for lunch.
They open at 11:30 so lets meet at 10:30 am. weather permitting.
So go ahead and sleep in ...and we will power ride to a fish taco or two!!
The trip is about 12 miles for those who would like to return on the key. For those wanting a longer ride we will proceed to the Legacy trail and back to the beach making the trip a bigger challenge.
I will be riding from home if anyone is looking for about 25 miles let me know and join me.
A reminder that we will be having our annual cookout picnic on March 18 at the North Jetty at our usual spot.
A big thank you to David for always making it over the top!

Hello VYCyclers,

 

Sure glad we didn't let the threat of rain deter us this morning. It turned out to be a fabulous day,

SIx of us made way up the Legacy Trail through heavy traffic to First Watch for a tasty meal.

Today was  proof that our rides are tailor made for the milage you prefer.. Some went 17 miles ..20 miles ..24 miles and 33 miles.

SO no excuses for next time.

Thanks to all who rode ..we always enjoy our time together.

We will be haveing our annual picnic at the north Jetty on March 18 so watch for updates. Again thanks David you always

provide a great picnic and a great time!

 

So I will look forward to seeing you all in two weeks..

Some of us are planning a Wednesday bike ride to blackburn point and will have Kayaks delivered there for am extra bi athelon.

We chose leap year day for this special event,,, thats Feb 29,, So let me know if you would like to come along and I will make the arrangements.
